All aboard for the Pippins Summer Fête this Sunday

The Pippins School Summer Fête will take place this weekend and promises something a little bit different for the children.

Pippins School’s annual Summer Fête will take place this Sunday, June 28.

Organised by the school’s PTFA, a few of the details were ‘leaked’ to children in the school’s newsletter last month, promising “all will be revealed”.

As well as all the usual stalls there will, of course, be a bouncy castle, tombola, coconut shy, and Hook the Duck. Watch out also for the school’s very own set of stocks!

But this year’s fête will also include a train – yes a train! – for the children to ride on.

The fête will be an opportunity for children to say their goodbyes to Mrs Jannotti and Miss Hysen who will both leave at the end of term.  Mrs Jannotti, the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo), will be retiring after a 12 years at the school, while Year 3 teacher Miss Hysen will continue teaching in Reading, and travel around Europe!  The school welcomes Miss Hendry to the Year 3 role, and Mrs Pawar who will be joining as SENCo in September.

The fête will run between 11 am and 3 pm, at the school off Rodney Way.
