Britwell Parish Council come out fighting following abolition decision
Britwell Parish Council has branded Slough Borough Council ‘big bullies’ following its decision to scrap it this week.
The Community Governance Review recommendations, endorsed at the full Council meeting on Tuesday, recommended abolition after expressing concerns about the parish council’s ‘ability to operate effectively and transparently’.
It also found householders do not accept the parish precepts represented good value for money at £66 per annum.
But the furious chairman of Britwell Parish Council has come out fighting.
Councillor Olly Isernia said:
“It’s about politics, land and money. It’s the big bullies attacking the little people and it’s disgusting.”
Wexham Court is also set to lose its parish council while Colnbrook with Poyle has been given until the next election to engage more with residents.
