Burglar caught red-handed jailed for 21 months
A burglar caught red-handed stealing from a Colnbrook house has been jailed for 21 months.
From the Slough Express:
Shortly before 7pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, Stanley Butler, 36, was stopped in his tracks burgling a home in Bridge Street.
He was found at the top of the home’s stairs by its occupants.
Upon being questioned, Butler, from Moreland Avenue, Colnbrook, told the residents he been threatened by a man with a knife.
He then fled the home.
The home occupants later found pillowcases filled with possessions which Butler was going to steal. Items included an iPad, laptop, camera, and aftershave.
He was later arrested by police.
He pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty and sentenced by Reading Crown Court on Thursday.
DC Amy Pendergast, investigating officer, said: “When sentencing him last week, the judge described Butler as a ‘dishonest man’ who had lied about his actions.
“The sentence given to Butler of 21 months is to run consecutively to a sentence he is already serving for handling stolen goods.”
2012 – David Reuben Butler of Drifts Way was jailed for 4 years in 2012 (with time served taken into account) in connection with the murder of a man whose body has never been found.
2007 – Reuben Owen Butler, of Morelands Avenue, was one of six members of an organised criminal network jailed for his part in a major cigarette smuggling racket.
