Two fire crews were despatched this afternoon to attend a blaze in a field in Colnbrook, the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported earlier. The incident was reported around 3:30pm and was attended by two fire crews from Wokingham and Maidenhead. Residents on social media said the fire was in Crown Meadow.

The man arrested by police for aggravated burglary following Monday’s shooting was arrested for a Boxing Day burglary in 2015. Anthony Hearn, 48, from Moreland Close, was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary in relation to the incident and was due to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court later today.
Goodman Logistics has failed in its High Court challenge to force the Government to reconsider a controversial plan for a huge rail freight interchange in Colnbrook. Although the Court found that Goodman had succeeded on some points of its legal challenge, those points would NOT have changed the original decision to refuse permission.
