Star young writer wins prize for Olympics story

A schoolgirl from Colnbrook has proved herself a star storyteller by scooping an award. Sophie Popplewell, 10, who goes to Pippins School in Rodney Way, won the Star Writer competition, which was run by Slough Commuity Leisure and the Express series. She won a two game bowling package at Absolutely Ten Pin in Salt Hill Park for her entire class, as well as the engraved Star Award.

The Slough Youth Bus will now be rolling into Colnbrook each and every Wednesday. The Youth Bus is a chance for all you young people aged 13-19 to relax, chill out and get involved in all sorts of activities, such as:

  • Nintendo Wii with Outdoor Flat Screen
  • 2 x Playstation 3s
  • 5 Flat Screen computers
  • Gemini CD Mixing Decks
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Sofa Chill Out Areas
  • Music Production
  • Sports Equipent (Hockey, Nerf Ball)
  • Board Games

So if you’re interested in any of the above whether it be just chilling out or mixing your own tunes come and meet us!
