CCA seeks your feedback on Colnbrook truck restrictions

The Colnbrook Community Association (CCA) has been asked by Slough Borough Council to gauge resident support for two recent trial schemes placed on HGVs.

The weight restriction on Colnbrook High Street

This weight restriction was implemented as an experimental Traffic Regulation Order. This expires in November this year, and therefore we have approx 3-4 months to decide whether or not to make the restriction permanent, or to modify it in some way, or to remove it. If we take no action, we will have to remove it once the experimental order expires.

The closing of the acceleration lane adjacent to Sutton Lane

The intention here was to prevent overnight parking of HGVs, and associated nuisance. We were mindful that in closing one apparent “layby”, we might simply move the problem(s) elsewhere. So it would be very useful to have feedback on whether Colnbrook Community Association considers the closing of this “layby” to have had the desired effect. Also are there any undesirable side effects?

The Colnbrook Community Association would grateful for any comments relating to both the weight restriction and the closed lay-by.  Do you think they have been beneficial or not. And if you think they have been worthwhile schemes, are there any tweaks that could be implemented to improve them?  Feel free to post your comments here, or email your comments to: vicki.brenner@btconnect.com
