Champion and mentor sought for Colnbrook’s young people
A new role is being created for a “champion and mentor” to the young people in Colnbrook as the new Colnbrook Youth Club launches additional sessions from today.
The Colnbrook Community Association is looking for a Youth Leader to support the Colnbrook Youth Club sessions and additional activities that it delivers for young people in Colnbrook.
The Colnbrook Youth Club was reborn last year as a collaboration between Youth Engagement Slough, St Thomas’ Church and the Colnbrook Community Association. Aimed at children between the ages of 11 and 19 in the Colnbrook, Poyle, Brands Hill and Westfield, providing 3 two hourly sessions per week.
From today it will be delivering additional free sessions in Colnbrook, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, until the end of 2014.
The new paid position will be part-time, funded by the grant to YES for provision of youth services by SBC.
As well as helping to deliver the extended sessions the successful applicant will be expected to act as a champion and mentor to the young people in Brands Hill, Westfield, Colnbrook and Poyle.
The CCA says:
“We are looking for a Youth Leader who can support us in the delivery of these sessions. We are open to expressions of interest from Youth workers looking to share the role.”
Applicants must be over 18 years old, be enhanced DBS certified, hold levels 1 & 2 Child Safeguarding and be prepare to travel to venues where workshops are taking place.
The CCA says it is also preparing to put together a summer holiday programme, details of which will be announced soon.
