Christmas all sewn up … what’s happening when and where over the festive season

Local Christmas festivities kick off this weekend with a reindeer procession in Eton on Thursday, Christmas Craft Fair in Horton on Friday and a Santa Fun Run in Staines on Saturday.  But there’s plenty coming up in Colnbrook and other neighbourhoods in the run up to the big man’s visit next month.

Christmas Lunch, 4th December

The Colnbrook Residents Association will be holding its annual Christmas Lunch at the Langley Marriott.  Tickets £20 from the Pharmacy.

Christmas pantomime, Mother Goose, 7th-11th December

The 2016 Pantomime will be CAST’s traditional adaptation of ‘Mother Goose’ directed by CAST newcomer Debbie Clutterbuck.



Pippins’ Fete, 15th December

Pippins School will hold its annual Christmas Fete on Wednesday, 14th December from 2:30-4:30pm.

Christmas Family Church Service, 15th December

A special service being held at St Thomas’ Church from 2.15pm.

WestTrans is offering advice and funding on sustainable transport strategies for local faith centre and community groups in areas suffering air pollution.

Christmas Carol Sing-along, 16th December

Christmas Concert, Friday, 2nd December

A Christmas Concert by community choir the New Egham Singers. The varied programme includes several styles of music, including pop, folk, and traditional Christmas music, with a chance for some audience participation. A highlight will be the premiere of two new carols written by members of the choir. The concert will raise funds for Surrey charity The Wildlife Aid Foundation. Christmas Lights Switch-On, Thursday, 17th November

Christmas Craft Fair, Saturday, November 19th

St Michael’s Church in Horton is hosting a Christmas Craft Fair.  Come and shop for Christmas, or have your own table top for £15.00.

The Fair will take place from 2-4pm at St Michael’s Church, Stanwell Rd, Horton.



Christmas Lights Switch-On, Saturday, 26th November 2016

Iver Parish Council’s Christmas Lights Switch-on event will take place on 26th November 26th November at Iver Village Hall.  The event will run from 2pm – 5pm with the Christmas Lights being turned on at 4.45pm

This year it has secured sponsorship from Pinewood Studios for new Christmas Tree Lights in Iver Heath.



Grand Christmas Lights Switch-On, Monday 5th December

Once again Langley Neighbourhood Forum invites residents to ‘The Grand Switching on of the Langley Christmas Lights with Carol Singing & Mince Pies’ on Monday 5th December 2016 at 6 00pm.  The event will take place in the Harrow car park (near Budgens).

Carols will be sung by the children from Langley Hall Primary Academy followed by FREE refreshments: Tea, coffee and mince pies served outside of Harrow Hall with the opportunity for people to sit down inside.



Christmas Lights Switch-on, Saturday 26th November

This year the event will be on Saturday 26 November in the Town Square, High Street, Slough, from 1pm-5pm.  There will be a stage, music, fireworks, Santa’s Grotto with Santa’s special animals. And we have brand new lights for the trees and the high street lampposts (and also for Chalvey and Farnham Road lampposts!).

Meet Santa, be in with the chance to win prizes and enjoy a programme of entertainment, including singing and dancing.

Colnbrook C of E Choir at The Observatory, 8th December

Colnbrook Primary School’s choir will be performing at The Observatory, Slough, from 12:30pm.


Christmas pantomime Sleeping Beauty, 20th-28th December

The DK proDuKtions’ Sleeping Beauty comes to Venue @ The Curve from 20th to 28th December.  The pantomime will be the first major show produced at The Curve’s performance space its opening in September.

Boo and hiss the bad fairy, cheer the hero and marvel at the enchanting and animated scenery.  Magical family fun, colourful characters, sensational songs and loads of laugh-out-loud moments are promised.

There will be up to three performances of the pantomime a day – with a break on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day – with afternoon, late afternoon and evening options.

Christmas Dash, Sunday, 20th November

From 9am the Rotary Club of Staines will be painting the town red with the Staines-upon-Thames Christmas Dash.  A family-friendly fun run in aid of charity, over a distance of 3.5km around the town centre starting in the High Street.

Christmas Parade, Sunday, 20th November 2016

Come and welcome Father Christmas and special guests to town to kick off the Christmas season.  Join the parade with Father Christmas, The Snowman and Snowdog, and many other guests. More information at  From 10:30 to 11am.





Wraysbury Christmas Fayre

A traditional Christmas Fayre will be held in Wraysbury High Street on Saturday 10th December between 4pm and 7pm.
