Christmas bin collections and tree recycling timetable
You may not have bought your Christmas presents yet but Slough Council is already preparing to collect your Christmas Tree.
Slough Borough Council is reminding residents that bin collection days will change over the Christmas and New Year period.
Bins will be emptied between one and four days later than normal between 26 December and 14 January due to bank holidays.
Excess rubbish and items that won’t fit in bins should be taken to Chalvey Household Waste and Recycling Centre, which will be open from 9am-5pm every day except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Residents are reminded to recycle as much as they can over the holidays – Christmas cards, wrapping paper, cardboard packaging and boxes, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, food and drink cans should all go in the red recycling bins.
If you’ve got a real Christmas tree this year and you can’t compost it (the most environmentally conscious way to dispose of it) or take it to the household waste and recycling centre, there will be a real tree collection service.
This will be between 9 and 20 January, with trees to be outside by 6am. You must book to arrange this collection with Amey.
There will be no bulky item service between Monday 19 December and Friday 6 January. The service will resume from Monday 9 January 2017.
Please contact the council’s waste contractor Amey on 0800 634 6301 or 01753 518555 with any queries or visit www.slough.gov.uk/recycling
