Christmas comes early for Colnbrook Scout Group!
Colnbrook Scout Group has been chosen by Waitrose in Staines to be a community project for this month, which gives it an opportunity to benefit from a share of £1,000.
Colnbrook Scouts Group is set to benefit from a windfall this month having been selected by Waitrose as a community good cause.
Waitrose’s Community Matters scheme was launched in 2008 to help the local community. At the end of their shop customers receive a token to place in a box of the good cause they’d most like to support.
The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive. Each month every Waitrose branch donates £1,000 between 3 local good causes that you choose.
Leigh Kelly, treasurer of Colnbrook Scout Group, said: “We are very pleased!”
“If anyone does food shopping/ or can nip in for a few items in Waitrose Staines, can they put their green tokens that you receive when you pay for your shopping in our box which is located at the shop exit”.
Since 2008 the scheme has donated £14 million to local charities.
