Colnbrook councillor calls on dance groups to “celebrate the diversity of Slough”

Colnbrook’s Madhuri Bedi is calling on residents to celebrate the diversity of Slough with a special multi cultural event in Slough town centre this Spring.

Councillors from Slough’s Community Cohesion group are organising an event in celebration of Slough’s diversity to which they will invite the community to attend in their national dress.

Cllr Madhuri Bedi from Colnbrook, who represents Foxborough on Slough Borough Council, is looking for dance groups of all nationalities “to showcase their amazing talent through all genres of national dance”.

She says:

“If you are part of, or know of, local talented people of any age who perfom dance from ballroom to Bhangra, Irish jig to Polish dance, Kathak to Atilogwu, Kumini to folk or Morris dance – the list is endless – please get in touch.  Whatever the steps, if you would be willing to give your time and talent for this event it would be great to hear from you!”

Anybody interested should contact Cllr Bedi by 21st February 2017 on via email at or by phone on: 077980 493314, or via her Facebook page at

The event is due to take place on Saturday, 20th May, in the town centre.
