Colnbrook Pharmacy is Community Pharmacy of the Year 2013!
The 2013 Pharmacy Business Awards, the “biggest and most glittering” awards ceremony in the pharmacy calendar, awarded Colnbrook Pharmacy with a prestigious award this week.
Cllr Kishurbhai Laxman’s Colnbrook Pharmacy was awarded the “Community Award” at this year’s 2013 Pharmacy Business Awards on Wednesday.
The annual networking event in central London – now in its 13th year – brings together community pharmacists, manufacturers and wholesalers, health officials, pharmacy politicians and key buyers from across the retail and wholesale spectrum.
The Community Award is sponsored by Sigma Pharmaceuticals for “the independent community pharmacist who has played an outstanding role in service to the community, locally or nationally”.
Community pharmacists provide a critical service to communities throughout Britain and many go beyond the call of duty in ensuring patients receive the best healthcare.
Pharmacists working in independent pharmacies are able to nominate themselves or other pharmacists for the fourteen awards by submitting a 600 word application describing their contribution.
In 2011 Cllr Laxman’s assistant Iwona Garncarek was voted as Pharmacy Assistant of the year. She was later nominated for the Colnbrook Community Cup for integration of the Polish community.
