Colnbrook Post Office on Park Street is set to close by year end.

The Post Office is proposing to relocate Colnbrook Post Office 130 metres down the road from 5 Park Street to a counter service in the Nisa Local at 3 Bridge Street.

Colnbrook Views broke the news of the likely closure by year-end in June and rumours have been circulating since that Nisa may take over.  With the Post Office demanding ever longer opening hours as part of its focus on modernisation Mr & Mrs Battoo decided to call it a day after 33 years serving the village.

In its new location the Post Office says it will re-open as “a modern open-plan local-style branch with extended opening hours”.   The majority of Post Office products and services will still be available

The move will be in line with replacing dedicated local post offices to the ‘Post Office Local’ format aimed at delivering Post Office products and services through retail outlets.

The Post Office in in the process of consulting with residents over the change.  It began a six-week consultation on October 10 and will conclude on November 19.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open Monday to Friday: 6am to 11pm; Saturday and Sunday: 7am to 11pm, offering an extra 71 hours of Post Office service every week.

The Post Office says:

“We’re now starting a 6 week local public consultation and would like you to tell us what you think about the suitability of the proposed new location. Before we finalise our plans, we would really like to hear your views on the proposed location”.

It says it particularly wants to hear feedback on the following areas:
 How suitable you think the new location and premises are and how easy it is to get there?
 Are the new premises easy for you to get into and is the inside easily accessible?
 Do you have any concerns about the new location?
 If so, do you have any suggestions that could help us make it better for you?
 Any local community issues which you think could be affected by the proposed move
 Anything you particularly like about the proposed change

Customers can share their views online through a quick and easy questionnaire at with the branch code 059946.
