Colnbrook surgery will remain open until at least 2017
Langley Health Centre has agreed a renewed lease for its Colnbrook branch surgery up to September 2017 it has been announced.
Dr Adams, senior partner at Langley Health Centre informed the Parish Council yesterday that a lease renewal has been agreed with the landlord of 11 Wheelwrights Place, its branch surgery on Colnbrook High Street, up to September 2017.
Langley Health Centre had confirmed to the CCA on Friday that it had put in place a temporary solution which will allow the surgery to reopen on this week until the end of August but had feared that it would not be able to get around “onerous” new restrictions in the lease.
The news will bring a sigh of relief to many who had feared the permanent loss of GP services in the village.
There was also promising news that the new Joint Co-Commissioning Committee for primary care may help the local situation. The new committee was set up by the Slough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England (NHSE) to improve local health care services for the future, as Colnbrook Views revealed last week.
Dr Adams and Parish Chair Cllr Hood both attended the inaugural meeting of the new committee last night at Windsor racecourse.
The Parish Council posted on its website:
“Our chairman was able to have constructive conversations with the chair and other members of the Committee, including SBC’s Commissioner for Health & Wellbeing, regarding the ongoing provision of local health care in the Colnbrook community.
“They have agreed to meet together with other stakeholders and look to map out the future in this regard.”
The Parish Council has long campaigned for better provision of GP services in the area through the Parish Plan.
