Community Association announces Summer Camp for Colnbrook kids!
Boredom is definitely off the agenda for 8-14 year olds this Summer with a major announcement by the Colnbrook Community Association that it has managed to fund a Youth Summer Camp starting in August.
If you notice that Colnbrook Community Association committee members are walking a little taller today don’t be too surprised. They have managed to pull off a major coup in organising a Youth Summer Camp next month, providing engaging activities all day every weekday for a full four week period for kids in the village.
The camp will run from Monday 4th August to Friday 29th August and will offer a mix of sport, games and entertainment.
As well as keeping your kids occupied over the hot summer months, the CCA says the activities it has planned will allow kids to gain new skills, learn how to work together, and make new friends. There will be professional coaching in football, cricket, table tennis, basketball “and more”.
The camp will be centred on the youth fields at St Thomas’ Church, Vicarage Way, but some activities will be in different locations. A full schedule is set to be published shortly with over 150 hours of activity scheduled.
And if that isn’t enough, the CCA is also organising some ‘away days’. Tantalisingly, it won’t say what these are just yet!
The weekly camps are available to all boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14, whether or not they have signed up with the Colnbrook or Westfield Youth Clubs. Activities will be supervised by male and female sports coaches. The sessions run from 09.00 to 16.15 daily.
With the funding the CCA has secured the cost to parents has been kept to just £45 per child per week, with further reductions for families with two or more children. There is also a crèche service available from 08.00 until 17.00 for £10 pppw to help working parents.
