Community Association’s bid for Youth Council funding to be debated next week
The Colnbrook Community Association has submitted a bid for £5000 from the Parish Council to fund its planned new Youth Council.
The Colnbrook Community Association’s bid was briefly discussed at the meeting of the Parish Council on October 15 but was deferred to the next meeting on November 5.
The CCA first revealed its intent to launch a Youth Council in September. It plans to give young people in the village a voice.
The application was submitted 29th August.
Charles Burke, secretary of the CCA told Colnbrook Views:
These funds are simply to be used towards payment for youth workers over the year. It is only part of the funding we need but if we get this then we can go for matched funding from other sources.
The Colnbrook Youth Council will follow the format of the British Youth Council which aims to empower young people aged 25 and under to influence and inform the decisions that affect their lives.
The parish council will also discuss the vacancy on the council caused through the resignation of Leslie Jarrett.
