Dear Elector and Residents of Colnbrook and Poyle.
My name is Brian Linton and I am standing for election to the Parish Council. I have lived in Colnbrook for 7years after moving from Hayes, Middlesex. I have been a Church Warden at St Thomas’ for 4 years. I have experience of being a Parish Councillor, when I lived in Ditton Kent.
I firmly believe that a Parish Council should be made up of experience Councillors, new Councillors from all walks of life and it does not matter from which country, class or creed they come from.
Whilst living in Colnbrook I am a member of stopSIFE, which I firmly believe we need to stop. All of us are going to be affected by this, the thought of the by-pass, taking an estimated 7000 vehicles a day. We now have over 3500 per day on this Road. This project needs to be stopped in its tracks.
I am also a member of the Colnbrook Community Association (CCA) and a member of Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG)
Looking after the needs of the people of the Parish within the framework of the Parish Council, is paramount.
The old school is to be open as a SureStart Centre and Library later in the year, with the possibilities of other uses in the evenings and weekends. This project was achieved by a joint effort of SBC, the existing Ward Councillors, Parish Council and St Thomas’ PCC.
I will be organising a new Youth Club for the Village in the next few Months.
Please give me your support on Thursday 5th May.
Brian Linton (Independent)
