Dexter takes on finance brief as local Tories reorganise
Colnbrook’s outspoken Dexter Smith has been given the finance and strategy brief following a reorganisation of Tories agreed at their Annual General Meeting last Monday.
In the last local elections held in Slough, Labour won or held all 14 of the contest seats, leaving the Tories with just 5 out of 41 councillors. All councillors have been given multiple positions to shadow.
Cllr Anna Wright, group leader, will look after neighbourhoods, community and leisure; Cllr Wayne Strutton, will take on health and wellbeing, environment and open spaces; Cllr Diana Coad will look after unemployment, social and economic inclusion; and Cllr Frank Abe will look after education and children.
Local Conservatives have not held outright control over Slough Borough Council since 1979.
