Europe’s biggest water park opens … in Horton Road

Europe’s largest water park has opened … just minutes from Colnbrook.  A revamped Liquid Leisure opened its doors a fortnight ago.

An expanded Liquid Leisure in Horton Road held its grand opening on Saturday, June 18.  With a new inflatable obstacle course, junior aqua park, and a wide range of water sports and activities, the company claims it is now the biggest water park in Europe.

The main area is suitable for anyone over the age of eight but the junior aqua park can be used by children aged between five and 10.  There is also a club house, bar, cafe, and beach zone and families can camp on the site to enjoy the fun for longer.

Liquid Leisure will host the UK wakeboarding championships at later this month at the site near Datchet.  The world’s best riders are set to attend the Plastic Playground event on 16th July.

But for those not so ready for the extreme stuff there is plenty to do at a more gentle pace including:

  • Cable lake
  • Open water swimming
  • Boat lake
  • Aqua park
  • Beach zone
  • Stand up paddle boarding
  • Inflatable obstacle course
  • Kids Club
  • Banana boat rides
  • Water skiing
  • Camping
  • Club house
  • Gym
  • Bar
  • Lakeside grill

Most reviews have been positive about everything except the price.

Access to the Aqua Park begins at £15 for a 55 minute session, including a day pass to the beach zone (children under 8 go free on the beach but are not).  There are additional charges for other activities.  Kids parties begin at £17.50 per child.  A Summer membership for the Cable Lake is £795 while a yearly membership to the Boat Lake will set you back £1,495.

The park’s website can be found here.

Normal opening times for the park are 11am until 7pm, seven days a week.  Call to book on 01753 542500.
