Major fire at Golden Cross pub shuts Poyle Road
A major fire has broken out at the Golden Cross pub in Poyle this evening.
Three fire crews are currently in attendance at the Golden Cross pub in Poyle and thick plumes of smoke can be seen billowing from the first floor, as at 5:30pm this evening (Sunday, 18th December).
Access to Poyle Road from the Horton Road roundabout has been closed off, but Stanwell Road remains accessible.
With an accident on the M25 currently between junctions 14 and 15, two lanes closed on the M4 westbound between junctions 5 and 6, delays of over an hour on the J7 Huntercombe Spur, and severe delays on the M4 eastbound, the fire has added to the gridlock in the area this Sunday.
Local motorists are best advised to delay travel plans if at all possible.
