Funding sought to document A Tale of Two Villages
A joint venture between Iver Parish Council, Iver and District Countryside Association, Colnbrook with Poyle Parish Council and Colnbrook Community Partnership is seeking funding to document the long association of Colnbrook and Iver villages.
According to Ray Angell, Secretary of the Colnbrook Community Partnership, the objective is to log the history of the two villages, together with their historic links, and their progress to the present day.
The intention is to engage the youth of the villages and encourage them to talk to the elder villagers. The idea is to chronologically log the findings to build up a complete picture of historical data gleamed from both the written word and people’s memories of life in the villages.
Funding will be applied for this year to enable the scheme to get off the ground.
Both IDCS and the CCP are registered charities and either could hold the funding if successful. However, whilst IDCS are willing they would prefer not to hold the funds whereas the CCP would be willing to hold the funds.
