Funeral procession for K to pause outside Colnbrook Pharmacy for village to pay its respects
The funeral procession for Cllr “K” Laxman will pass through Colnbrook High Street tomorrow, morning pausing briefly outside Colnbrook Pharmacy to allow residents to pay their respects.
Funeral details for Cllr “K” Laxman have been shared by the Parish Council and Colnbrook Residents’ Association on behalf of the Laxman family.
It has been confirmed that K will pass through Colnbrook High Street at approximately 9:30 am on Saturday (19th August), with a horse-drawn procession expecting to pause outside the Colnbrook Pharmacy in order to allow everyone to show their respect.
The funeral, reserved for family, friends and close acquaintances, will take place at 11.00 am at South West Middlesex Crematorium, Feltham. It will be followed at 2:30 pm for a light buffet and celebration of K’s life for family and all friends at the Heathrow/Windsor Marriott Hotel, Ditton Road, Langley.
Donations to Cancer Research can be made via a JustGiving page set up by Cllr Peter Hood who has set a target of £1,000 to raise for the charity. Cllr Laxman, 60, was first diagnosed with cancer in 2008.
Cllr Hood told the Slough Observer that “only two weeks before he died he was planning this year’s Christmas party”.
The Parish Council released a statement on Tuesday paying tribute to its “dear colleague, friend and fellow councillor”, with the message:
“May his soul rest in peace, our prayers and thoughts are with his family at this sad and difficult times”.
It said it delayed its annnouncement as a sign of respect to the family.
Those attending the celebration of K’s life are advised that the Marriott is on the 81 bus route. Car parking for those travelling by car is free, provided you register your car at reception on arrival. Fines man apply if you do not register.
