George re-opens with new licensee, new look … and beer!
Ye Olde George reopened its doors yesterday evening with new licensee Jenni Burgess at the helm.
The “new look” George reopened its doors yesterday after its brief closure. The pub used its via its Facebook page to welcome back customers to a reassuringly “FULLLLLLLY STOCKED BAR” after its recent dry spell.
Jenni Burgess, who used to work at the pub, is the new licensee. She replaces Geoff Damp whose departure last week prompted the unexpected closure.
The Slough Observer reported that Punch Taverns had responded with “a terse announcement” to its inquiries, following news of the pub’s closure on Monday.
The brewery’s statement said: “We look forward to supporting them to ensure the Olde George continues to serve its local community well”.
The pub is holding a karaoke and disco from 9pm tonight and will be hosting the Macmillan Coffee Morning tomorrow from 10am.
