Help find much loved Bubbalicious, missing since the floods
A much loved family pet has gone missing and Nick Harrington-Lewis is looking for your help to find him.
The human cost of the floods will no doubt be measured in repair bills and insurance claims but the impact for animals, both domestic and wild, has been pretty bad too.
The RSPCA said on Friday that it rescued over 400 animals from flood-stricken areas in the past week alone, in one of its worst ever weeks. It also said it has received over 1000 calls from people worried about their pets or reporting animals in trouble.
Not only have we been helping people and pets, but unusual rescues include us saving 40 koi carp and, in a separate incident, 30 chickens from the flood waters.
Nick Harrington-Lewis, whose house backs onto Mill Street, posted on Colnbrook Views this morning that his small ginger and white cat has been missing since Friday night. We’d like to help Nick find his cat and would ask residents to keep their eyes open, or share the pictures on Facebook.
He’s about 19 months old, very friendly, his name is Bubbalicious (although I suspect he won’t answer to it!).
Nick’s not overly optimistic given the stormy conditions over the past few days, but is desperate to find out what’s happened to him. He said posted earlier:
I don’t suppose anyone noticed a body in amongst the fallen trees during the clean-up? Perhaps it’s negative but he’s a home cat and I fear the worst for him given the weather over the weekend.
Maybe you’ve taken Bubbalicious in from the terrible conditions last week, or maybe you’ve seen him out and about. Any sightings would be greatly appreciated.
And as we all know cats have nine lives, so he’ll probably turn up safe and sound wondering what the fuss is all about.
Nick’s provided two pictures, the second one really to demonstrate that he’s got a bit larger since the first one was taken!
Any news, please drop a note to email@example.com with a phone number and we’ll pass straight on to Nick. Please don’t post any personal info online.
