Iver village rallies to save popular pub
From the Slough Express:
Residents in Iver have launched a campaign to purchase The Bull to save it from closure.
Community spirit is alive and well in Iver with villagers rallying together to purchase a popular pub. The Bull has been put up for sale by Punch Taverns, and the current landlords are set to retire.
It was listed as a community asset in the summer, meaning it cannot be purchased for a six-month period, which is set to expire in December.
The race is now on to try and raise about £400,000 needed to buy the site.
Chairman of the campaign to save The Bull, Alan Molloy, said:
“We’ve had huge support from people in the area, we have our business plan and bank account, and we are ready to begin the fight to save this real gem of our community
