Lost loved ones remembered at Slough memorial service

More than 100 people attended the third Little Angels Memorial Service, organised by the Vishaal Foundation, at Slough Crematorium on Saturday.

From the Slough Express:

The foundation was launched in January by Madhu Bedi from Colnbrook in memory of her one-day-old baby son Vishaal who died after becoming ill from an infection in 2003.

The service featured choir songs in memory of children who had passed away as well as a number of speakers.

These included Cllr Sandy Malik (Lab, Wexham Lea), who spoke about losing her son 48 years ago when he was just six months old.

“I think it went beautifully, it was just amazing to see how it is growing,” said Madhu.

“It is reaching out to people that need it. We had lovely comments on the day from people about how it has helped.

A candle service also took place before balloons inscribed with personal messages were released into the sky.

The Mayor of Slough, Cllr Shafiq Chaudhry, also released a dove to close the service.

On Tuesday, June 10,  the Vishaal Foundation unveiled a new memorial plaque at the crematorium which was paid for by E Sergeant & Son Funeral Directors.
