Man arrested following Colnbrook shooting was Boxing Day Burglar

The man arrested by police for aggravated burglary following Monday’s shooting was arrested for a Boxing Day burglary in 2015.

A Colnbrook resident has been identified as the alleged accomplice in the burglary in the early hours of Monday morning that saw a man fatally shot.

Anthony Hearn, 48, has been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary in relation to the incident.

‘Tony’ Hearn, from Moreland Close, was charged with the offence earlier (15th June) and was due to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court later today.

In January last year Mr Hearn was remanded in custody after being charged in connection with a Boxing Day burglary in Iver in 2015.

Hearn appeared before Aylesbury Crown Court in February last year.

Brother and sister Reuben and Kathleen Gregory, arrested on suspicion of murder following Monday’s shooting, have today been released police say.  Reuben, 72, has been released on police bail until 11th July while the investigation continues.

His sister, 54, has been released without charge.

The victim, a 48-year-old man from Slough, has now been formally identified as Wayne Digby. Following a post-mortem Thames Valley said that the cause of death had been given as a shotgun wound to the abdomen.
Colnbrook residents are advised that police officers will remain on the scene for some time as they continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with any information or concerns is asked to speak to officers at the scene or call the 24-hour police enquiry centre on 101.
