Mike Rayner: Don’t just grin and bear aircraft noise, make your voice heard!
(Reposted from submitted Comment on 14th October):
Anything ‘airport’ linked can run almost 24/7, unlike many other forms of local business and is by far the most intrusive 24/365 activity! Now the industry is looking to erode even more of the few chances granted to us for ‘a bit of quiet’.
Read on below what HACAN has to tell you and think of joining them for advice and news on this important aspect of our lives:
THE FLIGHT PATH TRIALS
What is happening now:
- From 1st July until March next year BAA has permission to bring in planes during the respite period. So residents no longer will get that half day’s break from the noise.
- There might also be some changes to the take-off routes.
- And in some weeks there will be more night flights between 5.30 and 6am
Don’t just grin and bear it!
The trials are only an experiment. It will be a lot more difficult for the Government to allow BAA to make them permanent if there are a lot of complaints.
Make your voice heard!
Keep a note of the problem and tell BAA. Leave a message on the BAA phone number 0800 344 844 or email email@example.com
