Mulled wine and mince pies help Colnbrook carol singers defy the rain!

The Colnbrook Residents Association reports Thursday’s carol singing, it’s last event of the year, was a great success.

Carol singing outside the George pub was back by demand this year following last year's first event.

Carol singing outside the George pub was back by demand this year following last year’s first event.

The festive event was organised by the CRA, CCP, CCA, CAST, Over 50s Club, and both St Thomas’ Church and Colnbrook & Poyle United Church. The event, which was sponsored by Grundon, saw a good turnout in spite of the rain – helped along by warm mince pies and mulled wine.

On a message on its Facebook page the relaunched and reinvigorated CRA which has gone from strength to strength in 2014 said:

We hope that you have enjoyed the programme of activities that we organised during the year. Best wishes to you all for a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. See you all in 2014

The CRA has held very successful community social events this year including Community Lunches and Bollywood, Polish, and Christmas themed events.

Completing the line-up of seasonal greetings this week both the Parish Council and Colnbrook Community Association have published upbeat Christmas messages and Superintendent Richard Humphrey, Commander of Slough LPA, took to Thames Valley’s community alerting to wish all residents of Slough a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.
