Parish at odds with supplier over Christmas lighting let-down
The Parish Council is resisting demands to pay the supplier responsible for December’s illuminated lamp-post let-down.
At Tuesday’s meeting of the Finance and Policy Committee Cllr Angell informed fellow councillors that a bill had been received from the company responsible for the Christmas tree ‘solar’ lights, which had been such a let down. Despite the failure the company is requesting a payment of more than half the quoted price.
Councillors agreed the Chair would prepare an appropriate riposte with a counter offer.
Provision of Christmas Trees, festive lighting and hanging baskets are one of the few powers that fall within the council’s remit. However, Colnbrook shouldn’t be in darkness next Christmas. A quotation has been received for Christmas Victorian Lantern Decorations to replace the faulty trees.
