Parish Forum to be held next Saturday in Village Hall
This month’s parish ‘drop-in’ will be a ‘parish forum’ event with representatives from village groups in Colnbrook invited to attend.
Next Saturday the Parish Council will host its next ‘parish forum’ at the Village Hall instead of the usual monthly ‘drop-in’ session. All village groups and societies will be invited to attend and promote themselves and what they do for the village.
Drop-in sessions, ‘surgeries’ attended by two councillors, are normally held for 90 minutes on the last Saturday of the month. However, attendance recently has been poor. Cllr Angell complained that just 2 members of the public attended his session in on 28th January, raising concerns about The George changing hands, dog mess on areas of the greens, Heathrow and the GP surgery. Following the last drop-in on 25th February, Cllrs Kinane and Brooks have been asked to provide feedback to the Services Committee.
The last parish forum, by contrast, saw 36 attend. It was proposed, following the event on 1st October, to hold forums twice a year to encourage community engagement and support local organisations.
The forum will be held on Saturday, 25th March from 10:30am until 12 noon at the Village Halls. Councilors will be available to answer your questions.
A flyer for the event suggests membership is on offer.
The Parish Council will host the event and serve teas and coffees.
