Pippins pupil takes runner-up in National Young Writers’ Award

The Slough Observer reports that Sudha Sekhon, from Pippins Primary School, has scooped second place in a national contest.

Sudha, 7, fought off close to 15,000 children from all over the UK who entered the National Young Writers’ Award competition to finish as runner-up.

Launched seven years ago, this year’s theme was ‘Strange Events & Peculiar Happenings’.  Children were encouraged write no more than 500 words and tell stories inspired by their most peculiar dreams to strange events that they have seen on the news.

Best-selling author Jonathan Meres judged this year’s entries.
