Pippins’ Scott Bryant is new Parish Councillor
Scott Bryant was co-opted last night to fill one of the vacancies on Colnbrook with Poyle Parish Council.
Last night’s meeting of the Parish Council’s Finance & Policy Committee saw Scott Bryant invited to join the council as a co-opted member.
Scott, current chair of the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) at Pippins School, has already worked with the Parish Council on a number of projects. Pippins benefited from parish contributions toward new school gym equipment, and improvements to Pippins Park.
He lavished praise on the parish during last year’s Community Governance Review, writing at the time:
… being from the local community themselves means they are more in touch with the views, concerns and wishes of the people of Colnbrook, making them better suited to making decisions for the residents of the village, and its residents, be they financial or otherwise …
He joins an embattled Parish Council at a difficult time. Having faced in-fighting since the current intake was elected in 2011, the parish was criticised for a belated response to Heathrow’s expansion plans and for its lack of communication during the flood crisis.
Scott works for DHL. He is proprietor of A Cake of Magic and claims to be “passionate about baking”.
The decision is expected to be ratified at the full meeting of the parish council on March 4.
