Colnbrook pub The Queen’s Arms has won this year’s Slough in Bloom competition!

This year was the 23rd year of the Slough in Bloom competition and the winners were presented with their awards by Mayor Councillor Arvind Dhaliwal in September.

The Council’s parks team help support the Slough in Bloom committee with the competition and the judging.

The judges were impressed with the colourful display of the pub’s window boxes, tubs and hanging baskets around the building.

The number of entries was up on last year and the standard was good but it was noted there are “many more lovely displays around the town which were not entered”.

The committee encourages everyone  to plant flowers in whatever space they have, to bring colour to the town.

“Look out for the 2017 competition – there is a category for tubs, window boxes and hanging baskets”.
