Rotting car in Colnbrook towed by council
A rotting car left abandoned in Colnbrook has been towed away by Slough Borough Council following complaints from residents, the Slough Express reports.
The 1998 Volkswagen Polo was without tax and had been dumped in Winchester Close since December before it was removed on Friday.
The abandoned Polo had also been the subject of anti-social behaviour with one vandal drawing attention to its lack of tax by spray painting the car’s side panels.
The removal order was made under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act after it was found the registered keeper had left the area and had no interest in the car.
Richard Garnett, from Slough Borough Council’s neighbourhood enforcement team, said: “Residents had to spend their lives looking at it slowly disintegrating, getting more and more damaged and causing anti-social behaviour, so we decided to get rid of it as soon as was possible.”
The Polo is now set to be destroyed.
