Slough remains tight-lipped about suspension of CEO Ruth Bagley
Slough Borough Council has refused to comment on reports that CEO Ruth Bagley has been suspended.
Slough Borough Council has refused to confirm or deny rumours that its CEO since 2007, Ruth Bagley, has been suspended.
The Slough Times broke the news of the suspension this morning, revealing that Mrs Bagley was escorted from Council premises at St Martin’s Place on 15th July, subsequently declaring herself to be on “personal leave”.
The Times says Mrs Bagley’s tenure at the Council has been accompanied by a culture of fear and an “alleged ‘repressive atmosphere’ within some parts of the council”.
The Colnbrook Community Association pushed Slough to confirm or deny the rumours as a matter of public interest. The Council tweeted:
“We are not prepared to discuss matters involving individual members of staff”.
Local newspapers, which have yet to pick up the story, go to the press tomorrow.
