THREE October openings give Colnbrook foodies plenty to smile about
It seems to be a month for new openings (or re-openings) in the village with a total of THREE this month! Great news for residents who like to eat out …
First, the Olive Tree Cafe opened its doors at Market Place, Colnbrook on Thursday, 5th October.
The new venture fills a vacant property and offers a range of sandwiches, salads and healthy snacks. The Olive Tree also bakes its own cakes and has launched its own “Superfood Salad” based on quinoa and borlotti beans with sherry vinegar dressing, salad leaves, vegetables and protien of your choice such as chicken, chorizo or goats cheese.
Opening times: Monday through Friday: 6am – 4:30pm; Saturday: 8am-2:15pm.
‘New La Bettola‘ officially (re)opened its doors on Thursday, 12th October, as “a wood fired italian restaurant and pizzeria”. With new management, a new menu, and new opening times the new team is keen to stress that it is all change at the restaurant based at Colnbrook Lodge on the Old Bath Road, Poyle.
New Bettola serves authentic Italian food and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
All meals are freshly cooked here and daily prepared in its own kitchen by an Italian head chef, using meat and vegetables from trusted local suppliers. The restaurant is promising freshly baked bread and cakes made on site throughout the day.
New Bettola is also offering a delivery service within a 3 mile radius.
Opening times: Coffee & freshly baked croissants available from 9am. Monday through Friday: 12 – 2:30pm & 5pm – 10:30pm; Saturday: 12 – 10:30pm; Sunday: 12 – 4pm
The Golden Cross in Poyle finally reopened last week following last December’s devastating fire and has been given a “transformational” refurbishment which has been well received on social media. It reopened in phases with a trial run before a reopening party on Saturday 14th and a full relaunch last Monday (16th October).
The pub has been given a full refurbishment following the fire that forced the pub to shut for ten months. It continues to serve pub favourites and authentic Italian stonebaked pizzas, and remains dog and family friendly.
Opening times: the pub’s Christmas hours see it opening from 12pm every day of the week until 10pm Monday through Friday, 8pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.
