Volunteers sought as HealthWatch Slough launches

The new consumer champion for Slough has been launched. HealthWatch Slough was launched at The Centre in Farnham Road on Thursday.

It replaces Slough Local Involvement Network (LINk).

HealthWatch will do everything the LINk did including gathering information about services by talking and listening to the community and passing on information about people’s experience to commissioners and providers.

But it will also provide information about health and social care services, and get more people involved from all parts of the community.

More than 60 people attended the launch and there was a question and answer session and presentations and talks from Slough Borough Council, the Clinical Commissioning Group and Slough Council for Voluntary Services.

A large group of local champions are being recruited to spread the word about HealthWatch, and help involve more of the community in having a voice.

There are also volunteering opportunities including research and report writing, marketing and communications.

Anyone interested in volunteering can email Caris.thomas@makesachange.org.uk or call 01753 219113.
