Westfield Estate MAY get a multi-use games area
The Westfield Estate MAY benefit from a multi-use games area as part of an initiative by Slough Borough Council – although funds have not yet been allocated.
The Slough Observer reports that £300,000 has been set aside to build six multi-use games areas throughout Slough in the next step of the council’s community investment project, approved on Tuesday.
But a seventh, in Westfield, is also being looked at.
The Observer says the metal-fenced games areas will include an all-weather surface floodlit court to play games such as football, hockey and basketball.
Cllr Natasa Pantelic, commissioner for community and leisure, said:
Despite government cuts, we are taking a practical approach to ensuring young people are given more things to do in local neighbourhoods.
